Janet is a writer, producer, improviser, and Emmy-nominated actress based in Los Angeles, which is in California, which is in the United States (see globe). You can see her on Hulu in the horror comedy series “Stan Against Evil,” and as Becca on “You’re the Worst,” and on Netflix as Korra in “The Legend of Korra.” For the last nine years, she’s hosted her podcast "The JV Club" (featuring guests including Sarah Silverman, Tig Notaro, Christina Hendricks, and over 450 more). She also co-hosts "Braving The Elements," Nickelodeon’s iHeart podcast about all things "Avatar:The Last Airbender," and stars in "Voyage to The Stars," an improvised space comedy with Felicia Day, Colton Dunn, Kirsten Vangsness and Steve Berg. She created/wrote/starred in her series for IFC, “Fortune Rookie,” and appeared as Carly on all three seasons of Emmy-Nominated series “Burning Love,” hosted and produced Geek & Sundry’s "Escape! With Janet Varney," writes for Rifftrax with Cole Stratton, and co-created “Neil’s Puppet Dreams” with David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris.
